1) About Me

My Journey: From Challenges to Empowerment in Beauty & Business

I’m Gabrielle Rogers, a passionate entrepreneur, beauty professional, and community leader from Atlanta. My journey has been a dynamic blend of aesthetics, wellness, and empowerment. As the founder of Your Golden Hour Aesthetics, I specialize in corrective skincare, waxing, and brow artistry. I’ve built a career in the beauty industry, partnering with brands like Jan Marini and Massage Envy, while also mentoring aspiring beauty professionals through workshops and educational programs. Beyond aesthetics, I serve as the Director of Community Engagement & Development at RedeemHer, where I work with women rebuilding their lives.

My path has also taken me into corporate events, brand ambassadorships, and public relations, working with companies such as American Express, T-Mobile, Live Nation, and Paramount Studios. While I love the beauty industry, my greatest passion is helping others discover their confidence—whether through skincare, business, or personal growth.

2) What I’ve Overcome

My journey hasn’t been easy. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was balancing personal struggles while growing my business. Life took an unexpected turn when my mother suffered a stroke, making it difficult for her to navigate daily life. I had to step up as her caregiver while also managing my business, my education, and my professional goals. It was a time of immense pressure, where I often felt like I was being pulled in every direction.

Additionally, as a young Black woman in the beauty and business industries, I’ve had to push past stereotypes and limited opportunities. The lack of representation and support in entrepreneurship forced me to work twice as hard, learn on my own, and create my own seat at the table. But instead of letting those obstacles break me, I used them to fuel my determination.

3) How I Knew I Needed a Change

There was a moment when I realized I was constantly pouring into others—clients, family, business ventures—but rarely into myself. My stress levels were high, my energy was low, and I felt stuck. I had to make a decision: either continue struggling in survival mode or create a sustainable life that allowed me to thrive. I chose the latter.

4) Steps I Took to Implement Change

I started by redefining what success meant for me. Instead of just focusing on work, I prioritized balance. Here’s what I did:

• Invested in education & mentorship – I pursued my degree in Business Administration and became a Cornell Entrepreneur Fellow to sharpen my skills.

• Expanded my business offerings – I diversified my services to include retail, skincare education, and brand collaborations to create multiple income streams.

• Prioritized self-care – As a beauty professional, I preach self-care, but I had to start practicing it myself. Meditation, therapy, and setting boundaries became key.

• Gave back to my community – I started initiatives like Glow & Grow, a free beauty and confidence workshop, to uplift underprivileged individuals.

5) Encouraging Words

Your journey won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Every setback, every closed door, and every challenge is preparing you for something greater. Don’t wait for permission to chase your dreams—go after them boldly. And remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself, too.
